Only stereo amplifiers could be made bridgeable to mono.

Sal........And not all stereo amplifiers can be bridged or paralleled. A good example is the new McIntosh MC452. It has no provisions to be bridged like the MC402 amplifier.
I think Maxflo was hoping to be able to double a tube amplifier's output power with a simple tube swap. That's not going to happen. |

Mike.......If a tube swap was all it took to double output power, I would be the first to roll a set of KT150's into my pair of MC2301's and up the ante to 600 watts.

Since power is proportional to voltage squared, maybe using a variac to raise the voltage by a factor of 1.414 to 172.8V will double the power output.
:laughin: :lmao: :roflmao: REALLY, DO NOT DO THIS!!!!! |

morph itself into several combinations doubling the power. I was stating that at least you need a stereo amp and that alone is not guaranteed. |
