Pimp my turntable (with Stillpoints)
Got a very nice set of Ultra SS and the LPI record weight from Ivan. I've been enjoying this combination for a week. First, I definitely like the LPI over the 2x as expensive Clearaudio Statement weight - Ivan was dead on about that. It looks awesome, and the feel in the hand as the pockets "jingle" is just way too cool.
Sonically, I've been enjoying the best sound in my life - by quite a large margin compared to past years. Most of that is recently getting the main components & their mix fully dialed in, but the Stillpoints seem to be a nice bit of icing to the cake. Better clarity, more bass weight and definition, but also somehow more musical than before with a natural warmth. I hear absolutely no trace of hard edges or sharpness. I've read great, almost glowing reports of the Ultra SS paired to Innovation series turntables, and I'm happy to confirm that reputation is very well founded. And this is on a Critical Mass Maxxum rack, so to eek out more performance on top of that is extremely impressive. Now I contemplate treating other components... If you're thinking about these, message Ivan (Subscribe if you haven't already) and pick up some! Here is my love; Koetsu Coralstone mounted now but I believe I have a Blue Lace currently awaiting me at the office! Gonna be a FUN weekend!! PS thanks to Ivan too for the AmScope rec on these forums. https://i.imgur.com/hAWbGcg.jpg |
Outstanding photo (gorgeous table), and review! :ok:
Paging Dave aka Canonicus... this is the very last thing you need for your Innovation. It will improve the isolation like nothing can. Even though we have some time; the ClearAudio Adapter size is rare (but I have you covered) ;) PM me if you want me to send these with your Stillpoints LPI Clamp on Monday. :o |
Looks like you took my TT light Reco too; nicely done! ✅

Here are the Stillpoints Ultra SS on my lowly Innovation Wood TT. As far as I know, I was the first adopter, as I helped Stillpoints identify the special Adapters that were needed.

I second the vote on the Stillpoints LP1 which I also purchased from Ivan at his recommendation. It beats my VPI HRX record weight by quite a bit.

Yep, in the grand scheme of things with this level of gear, Stillpoints are a pretty darn good bang for the buck!
|
What a beautiful TT. Is that a step up transformer to the right?
|
+1 on the Stillpoints with my Innovation TT. Ivan's advice was spot on. Congrats!
|
Beautiful, Mike. Love it.

Thanks guys! This table is my favorite possession.

I second this. I bought the Stillpoints ultra ss and lpi from Ivan and threw them on my master innovation. The difference was clear and obvious.

Glad to know everyone that took my advice is enjoying the same improvement that I have. :)

I run a Blue Lace on an FR arm too and went through 5 or 6 headshells and the Arche is by far the best, clearly audible. |
Hello all,
Excited to find this thread, as I currently own a Clearaudio Innovation Wood. I happen to have some Stillpoints Ultra SS's. I would love to try these on the table, if someone could be so kind as to let me know what size adapters you are all using. Thanks, much appreciated. - Henry |
Hi 3AbbeyRd, if you subscribe you can use the PM function, and then contact MasterLu. He is the driving force of the adapted Stillpoints.
