So, not Mc related exactly but finally got a VPI 16.5 RCM...
wow! how I survived this long without one is amazing. To me, there is NO better way to clean an album. I picked out one of my albums, put it on the VPI Prime Scout and it sounded staticky and had pops...and this was not an old used album either. Threw it on the 16.5...came out perfect! and no waiting for it to dry. Best investment in years for me...

I've used a 16.5 for the last dozen years. Wouldn't want to part with it.
Try the L'Art Du Son cleaning solution. It's one of the best on the market. |
...and try hand scrubbing with a proper brush prior to cleaning/vacuuming on the VPI - even better results. I had used the MoFi brushes when I had my Nitty Gritty MiniPro. I now use an uS cleaner.

I can't live without this... I'm even re-cleaning albums as I play them if they weren't RCM'd previously. I bought little green circle stickers to put on the album sleeves so I know if they've been VPI'd...

I was going through some files recently and found my invoice for VPI 16.5 dated 2004. I have no idea how many records I have cleaned over the years, but it has been a lot. Never had an issue with it either. It was a bargain for the $495 i paid for it back in the day.
