Soundproof apartment
Hi. I have an apartment I need to soundproof. How? I have mental disorders and external noise really affects me a lot. Doors leading to stairs around the whole building when closing affect me in my space and so does loud talking neighbor across the hall. I'm desperate cus if I can't solve this I have to move. Being disabled and in housing authority makes moving very difficult to a place that meets my needs.
And my home theater could use the help too. |
I am sorry to say this but I have only ever experienced a soundproof room in an apartment once and that was with a fully-enclosed room suspended within the real one. Otherwise, any sound/vibration that affects building structure will be conveyed to your room regardless of internal treatment.

Try noise cancelling headphones.

I'm not going to wear something non stop. I'm sure there's something to put on the walls that will lessen the sound.
I hate having mental issues like I do. Seems everyone I talk to doesn't understand me at all and what I go through or how this stuff really truly does affect me. :(((( |
