Aerial 5T
Just heard the new Aerial 5T today at AV Therapy in Nashua NH. Very impressive. Clear smooth top end w/plenty of detail in the mid range. The speaker needs some power to get the most out of it. The Bryston Integrated, Parasound or the 200 wpc Plinius would be excellent matches. The bottom end is tight and tuneful add a decent sub and you'll basically have a 6T. Nice wide sound stage w/the music coming slightly behind the speakers. Big bands sounded dynamic. Excellent neutral realistic sound. I listened for about an hour and it was typical Aerial, no listening fatigue at all. If the lights were off you would think these are bigger speakers. They are also very easy to place as they are front ported. As far as fit and finish all I have to say it's an Aerial.

My interest is piqued. Is this a new bookshelf? The Aerial brand has been on my radar for awhile now.

I was able to find one fairly grainy photo of these on Facebook. They look pretty sweet. Looking forward to more pics and specs.

I just did a home audition of the 5T. It's an amazing speaker that does everything just right. I'm still comparing brands but it is still the top contender.

I listened to Kef, Spendor, Totem, Penaudio, Opera, Bryston, PSB and Klipsch. I liked the 5t's the best. They will arrive tomorrow! |
Congrats enjoy the music.

I should have listened to John at AV Therapy when he suggested the 7T for my main system. I am very happy with the Aerial sound. |

They are awesome speakers. I have a pair in Nero black as well and are easy to place. With a sub they give me 90% of my 7Ts

This month's Stereophile John Atkinson reviews the 5T.

I have the 5Ts and the tweeter and mid-range is among the best I've ever heard in my life!
With careful placement, they can give great bass down to 40-some herz which is more than enough for most of the listening I do, anyways! |
Traded in my old Aerial 6's for a pair of 5T's. The bass is very good for these monitors. The top and the mids are beautiful and detailed. However I'm looking to get a little more lower end punch. I have a CJ ET3 SE which doesn't have a sub out. Any suggestions in the $800 range.

SVS SB-1000 and hook it up using the speaker level connections with cable like Wireworld Luna. $500 for the sub and $100 for the cable if you don't have spare sets laying around. Or you could look for a used REL T-7 or T-9. I like the Rythmik dual 8" sub but that is about a $100 over your stated limit.

I've got a friend in Texas who ordered one to go with his Reynaud Trente's. His should arrive tomorrow.

Stereophile just designated the 5T as a Class A speaker.
