Bald Eagles
Went eagle watching today on the Nooksack River, about 8 miles from my house. They gather along this stretch of river this time of year to fish for spawning salmon, and a few nest here. There were about a dozen out fishing or just watching this afternoon.

Tony.......Thanks for the photos. Nature at its best.
I hope you don't mind, I separated the photos with some space. |
Great great stuff. The photos are nice, but being there in the crisp cool air with those great birds must have been nicer.

Cool pics, Tony.
Thanks for posting them up! |
I love this area of NW Washington. My favorite in the contiguous 48 states. I've spent much time hiking around Mt. Baker and North Cascades National Park.

Thanks guys - yes, there's nothing like being out on a beautiful winter day watching these incredible birds.
Ken, FYI I'm about 30 minutes from Mt Baker ski area, we do a lot of hiking in the park and wilderness area. |
