Called the Custom Theater (CT) series by Classe, the new line of components are hailed by executive VP David Nauber as a hugely important release, stating “I really cannot overstate the significance of the new CT series.” The quartet of amplifiers offers a range of features including adjustable rack rails, detachable faceplates and a new circuit design. The real key however, according to Nauber, is the IC Tunnel. “The Intelligent Cooling Tunnel is a sensor-controlled aluminum bonded-fin heatsink cooled by a noiseless fan” he says. Along with the amplifiers comes the launch of the CT-SSP. Using the same circuitry as their SSP-800, the CT-SSP is tailored specifically for professional equipment racks. The CT-SSP is capable of decoding all HD bitstreams including Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio, and uses a pair of 64-bit Texas Instrument DSPs. While the Classe CT series are sold separately – the 600 Watt mono CT-M600 and 300 Watt M300 for $6,500 and $5,000, the 300W stereo CR-2300 for $6,500, the 5X300W CT5300 for $9,000 and the CT-SSP for $9,000 – they are also available as a package along with B&W loudspeakers. Home theater system packages start at around $50,000 and range up to $250,000. |
