Does anyone else have issues with GiK build quality?
I just got my brand new panels, and right out of the box:
Is this typical? If so, perhaps I need to return them and go with another vendor. At this point I'm frightened to even take the 244s out of the box. http://i597.photobucket.com/albums/t...s0wj4hqfc.jpeg http://i597.photobucket.com/albums/t...seuqjdkpu.jpeg Edit: What I thought was a horrible paint job on the feet was actually a protective white vinyl that could be peeled off, revealing a satin finish underneath! Who knew? |
That top photo looks like some old second hand planks of wood.
Definitely send that crap back and get a refund. |
Just terrible looking. I can't believe a company would send out something in that condition. Refund time for sure.
I would check out Vicoustic. Their build quality is extremely high and their panels are beautiful. The company is really gaining traction in the U.S. https://www.vicoustic.com/category/h-h-products Best, Ken |
That surely dont look good
When i bought my monster bass traps, i had no issues only thing i told them was that they should put some cardbord over the top where you would use you knife to open the box, so that your knife will then only hit the cardboard and not the bass traps. |

I only purchased 9 of the art panels several years ago. None of the issues you have described with the other products. :dunno:

Those look like used panels that have been box and shipped a few times. I would call them and handle it live. Quite sure they will address your issue with aplomb.

The issue with the feet, aside from the poor paint job to start with, is they were shipped "sandwiched" together and it's clear they spent the entire trip rubbing against one another. (Note the feet are steel, not wood.)
Even then, I am amazed a manufacturer wouldn't even spray paint the feet (or spray them well) let alone spend a few bucks to have them powder coated or the paint baked on; a local body shop could turn those out easily. I will definitely call them Monday. FWIW, the 244s seem to be in much better shape, but around back once again it is loose strings from the fabric material galore. They do work wonderfully, but I may return them anyway as aesthetically (at least compared to ATS), they are definitely not what I would expect for the money. Granted, this is the side of the 244 that would be against the wall, but still. http://i597.photobucket.com/albums/t...ps6l47eril.jpg |
Wow .......my DIY traps look far better than that.

Bill.......That is extremely disappointing and takes all the fun and excitement out of the experience. I purchased all of my acoustic panels and bass traps for my recording studio control room, the studio sound room, and my living room from ATS Acoustics. Not a single issue with any panels, even the ones I ordered in custom sizes.
