Is this the disc that comes with the K-1/K-3, etc? If so I have one and never used it. If you want one let me know.

I used it to break-in my K05, seemed to do a nice job. I don't know if it's better than playing normal music. :confused-2: :music:

Esoteric no longer supplies them with their players; they did away with that about a year ago.

It's a redbook disc, so it only affects the non-DSD filters and circuitry. Of course, it will give the transport a workout but any disc will do that.

This is an interesting question. The dacs in these players do both cd and dsd, it is a matter of software which dictates their configuration (rebook or sacd).

I had been wondering about a burn-in disk or similar for SACD players/transports. I have used them in the past on CD players, with some success.

To all: Set the unit for upsampling from PCM to DSD if it allows it and then use the disc again. It can then help burn-in the DSD specific circuitry. Works with the D-03 and D-02 DACs I have owned (03) and own currently (D-02).

i believe that copies of the Isotek disc equivalent are still available at least on eBay and from Isotek
