Bose 901 series 6 mk'2 with Reference McIntosh Gear...WOW!!

I heard these latest 901's hooked up to Top Of The LINE McIntosh gear and these 901's sounded amazing! It sounded very much like your at a Live Concert!:music:

Whats going on here! I thought these 901's were one of the worst speakers you could buy!! :scratch2::scratch2::scratch2::headscrt::headscrt: :headscrt::confused-22::confused-22::confused-22:

The 901 can sound very spectacular, trouser flapping bass. But they are no high end, no soundstage, low resolution

Most the Bose gear on display is never setup properly. They are not designed like a normal speaker and cannot be setup like one. They require pretty specific room reflection distances as they emit 90% of their sound from the rear of the speaker. They don't worry about getting to 20khz because frankly most people (including audiophile) can't hear to 20khz. As for the sound stage.... Well I agree it is non existent. Their goal is to produce a wall of sound like at a amplified concert not like an acoustic sound stage. I personally don't like the speakers but I know lots of people who do.

That's NOT what I heard with these new 901's!!

Bose is now using different speaker drivers with these latest 901's...you can do a google search for Bose 901 series 6 mk2's and they show pictures down that page of these new speaker drivers that Bose is using now...

PioneerGuy.......I'm sorry but injection molded baffles, what look to be injection molded speaker baskets, and waffled speaker surrounds won't get me to open my wallet.

Dan is right.......but regardless of the sound, visually those things are a complete hot mess.

Lol! How quaint. I never brag, but yeah, my Wilson's would crush those like a grape.
