I can't for the life of me remember who told me this.....so facts may be sketchy too;

There's a watchmaking school in NY or NJ that accepts only like 6 students a year and routinely turns down the other 200-some applicants.

All,
Yeah, I was pretty blown away at three things 1) the engineering specification and the mechanical engineering underpinning said specification 2) the manufacturing and finishing of the component parts and 3) the incredible artistry, craftsmanship, and workmanship in assembling and finishing this amazing watch. I loved the shot where one of the guys put some gears into the watch assembly, linked them up and wound it, and they all started up and started spinning....it was like seeing the timepiece literally come to life.

On another note, I'm pretty close to pulling the trigger on my first luxury mechanical watch....as something to use and wonder at the amazing art and science of fine watchmaking.
