New reference gear?
 

Any word when new reference gear may be coming out? I have my eye on a pre-amp to match the MA9S2's. For any one who has a/b a McIntosh C46 vs. the Marantz SC7S2 pre's-which sounds better-to you?

Forget waiting for new REF gear, and go for the SC7S2. It is a fully balanced, dual mono design that will match your amps perfectly. The C46 is not a true balanced design nor is it dual mono. The SC7S2 weighes about 50lbs and is absolutely gorgeous !!!

+1 I heard the rig with your amps at a local dealer with that pre :faint:

Douglax: thanks, if there is a weak link in the Ref gear I think it is the sacd player, SA7S1, it can be a little too detailed and bright for my taste. However all the ref gear really benefits from the use of upgraded powercords and line conditioner, especially the sacdp.

All my marantz gear benefited greatly from WW electras

I wonder how the WW's compare to the Shunyata Diamondback ?

I have compared the WW Silver Electra to the Shunyata Black Mamba; the WW is still in my system.

I have been waiting to see how/if Marantz updates the Reference line. I did find this on the website while poking around.
