Esoteric F-05 Integrated

Anyone have any experience with the F-05 Integrated? Sounds interesting and may be exactly what I am looking for to kick off my 2 channel system. :scratch2:

"Dual-Mono Esoteric F-05 Integrated Amplifier Delivers Reference-Class Separates Performance: Features Flagship Technology, Proprietary Volume Control System, and MM/MC Phono

The fully balanced preamplifier section in the Esoteric F-05 integrated amplifier directly derives from the company's $35k Grandioso C1 model. The amplifier modules come straight from Esoteric's $26k S2 amp. And that's just skimming the particulars of a Japanese-built reference instrument that gets you dangerously near the level of performance mustered by its six-times-more-expensive sibling separates. Entirely dual-mono throughout, the 240Wpc F-05 features a proprietary Quad Volume Control System responsible for see-through clarity, wondrous channel separation, and spot-on-accurate phase traits.

Tailored to deliver music's unforgettable expressiveness and soul-baring emotion with uncommon rapture, F-05 also includes gargantuan power supplies in the form of large-core 940VA custom El power transformers and 40,000µF block capacitors for each channel. A dual-mono MM/MC phono preamplifier, abundantly dynamic headphone amplifier, three-band tone control, and ball-bearing control knobs help complete a component second-to-none in its class when it comes to fit, finish, and pride of ownership."

Or the F-07 Integrated which would also be of interest and $2.5k less. :scratch2:

Japan-Made Esoteric F-07 Integrated Amplifier Puts You in the Midst of Unforgettable Musical Moments: 170Wpc Dual-Mono Design Prizes Texture, Balance, Richness, Warmth, and Naturalism

There's no substitute for being in the moment when the thwack of a bass drum serves as a lightning-bolt-out-of-the-blue shockwave, a power chord registers deep in your chest, or the swelling crescendo of a string section brings an orchestral arrangement to a ravishing climax. Reproducing such all-encompassing musical presence with breathtaking effortlessness, balance, and richness is the Esoteric F-07 integrated amplifier's primary purpose. Handmade in Japan and crafted to perfectionist standards, the 170Wpc F-07 prizes texture, warmth, and naturalism.

A fully balanced preamplifier section, balanced power-amplifier input stage, dual-mono configuration through all stages, an extremely low signal path, exclusive Quad Volume Control System, and super-low-noise logic control contribute to the faithful, clean, wide-range sound. Consider the onboard MM/MC phono preamplifier, audiophile-grade headphone amplifier, and two-band tone controls rewards for making such a wise investment.

Or go all the way for the F-03? Although this one mandates a careful selection of more sensitive speakers with 30/60w 8/4 ohms... :scratch2:

"Class A Reference Model
Setting out to create one of the most desirable integrated amplifiers available, Esoteric brought together a fully balanced preamplifier and a Class-A power amplifier-both directly derived from its well-respected Grandioso line-to created a new reference for integrated amplifiers that gives full expression to the smooth, full-bodied tones and delicately shaded textures of your favorite music. Featuring distinctive dual monaural construction that extends through all stages, from preamplifier inputs through to the final stage of its power amplifier output, the F-03A Integrated Amplifier brings out the full audio potential of Esoteric's highly regarded K and N Series of digital players.

Go big or go home! :D

Serge... the F-03 is in a completely different league as I’m sure you can imagine.

There is some real magic in that one.

Serge.......Both Esoteric integrated amplifiers look great. My preference would be the F-05. It is the third from the top F1 flagship integrated amplifier and benefits from much of the trickle down design philosophy and parts. The Esoteric F-05 is a beauty, plus being a Class AB design allows for cooler operation and considerable more output power. It would certainly make a fine backbone for an enviable sound system.

I am sure all 3 have a lot to offer, but I agree really looking hard at the flagship F-03.

Serge - I actually purchased Greg's F-05 and love it. I have it in my office with a PS Audio Directstream Dac, SilenZio music server, Kef LS-50 speakers and a Rel T5 sub.

Not sure if you are still in Bucks County, but if you are, I would be more than happy to let you borrow it to see how it sounds at your house. I travel a decent amount for work, so no big deal if you want to try it for a week or two.

PM me if you are interested.

Steve
