Flux hifi Electronic stylus cleaner
Picked up a neat accessory this week that I've needed but haven't taken the time to actually explore....a stylus cleaner. I purchased the Flux hifi electronic stylus cleaner reviewed by Michael Fremer on Analog Planet awhile back.
https://www.maplatine.com/en/9576-th...us-cleaner.jpg What a cool little device......you simply place a drop of cleaning fluid on the pad and lower your stylus onto the pad. Hitting the button provides low frequency oscillation that cleans your stylus in about 15 seconds. I took a look at my stylus with a jewelers loupe and it was fairly dirty, had a bit of grunge on it but nothing severe. After using the Flux Hifi, a took a second look. Absolutely crystal clear, looks as clean as it did the day it was brand new. Pretty nifty cleaner and works as stated! https://www.analogplanet.com/content...stylus-cleaner - Buck |
Very nice - who knows what kind of crud is in some of those grooves!

Wow, thanks for the review/suggestion buck!

Another thing, I don't think I've ever played a record without first giving it a good 3 step cleaning, but it still doesn't matter! Giving the stylus a quick cleaning made an incredible difference. I wish I had a USB microscope to post a before and after picture.

Looks like a good cleaner.

Buck.......I'm not feeling it. Ortofon recommends the Onzow-ZeroDust stylus cleaner. That's good enough for me to use it on my Ortofon Cadenza Black.
Nothing about a vibrating brush and cleaning liquid leaching up the cantilever to the suspension system appeals to me. I don't care if Micky likes it or not. No thanks http://puremusicgroup.com/cart/image...oDust_1021.jpg |
Dan - I hear ya, I was thinking the same thing but after reading a bunch of accolades and user experiences, I thought I'd give it a try......even read several reviews of users replacing their Zerodusts......anyway, Can't argue with the results. That being said, if I played a lot of dirty records or had to clean my stylus very often, I'd be a bit more wary.
