Anyone?

"Problem" solved. User error. Boy do I feel silly!
The input that was bleeding through is marked "tape out". I never noticed
since 1) I can't see behind the unit once its in place, 2) my VSi60 I swapped this with does not have a "tape out" and 3) the manual never mentions it! Still I should have guessed sooner. Love my VSi75!

Saw a static vsi75 at the montreal show. Very nice build quality and design. Wish it was connected to hear it but that will have to wait.

Funny thing happened to my VSi75. It started buzzing, like 60 hz hum coming from the unit whenever it was plugged in.
It was very annoying as I could hear it from 20 feet away and in the quiet parts of music. Fortunately my dealer had just gotten his in and so he swapped it with me as his is dead quiet. Anybody ever encounter a buzzing or humming piece of ARC gear?

Yes, probably was not a problem with the unit.
It was interference from AC and the inter connectors.

Amado,

Can you expand on what you mean? What AC and interconnect interference? Cables near each other? Connectors touching each other? RFI? Dirty AC from wall?
Curious to know more about what may cause this buzz/humm.
Thanks
Chris

Amado

I also don't understand what you mean. The replacement VSi75 has no hum. Why would your explanation cause hum in one and not another with the same hook ups?

Adam

All you mention above can be the cause in tube gears Buzz/Hum.
AC cables is not recommend it to be in parallel when is close to the inter connectors.
the tubes when new are very sensitive to the magnetic arc that produce AC cables that are coiled near the input/ output
connections. Hope helps my info.
