Hej

Anyone who knows how the close to 8 ohm impedance these speakers are throughout their whole frequencie span?

Hej again

Does anyone know how much power Tannoy Legacy Eatons need? Can I drive them with a SET amplifier with 7 watts? According to Upscale Audio only 5 watts should be enough. Could that be right? Anyone here tried a 300B SET amplifier with Eaton?

Hej Masterlu

And thank you very much :-)

Sure it can probably work OK depending on your room size, seating distance and listening habits. But speaking as someone who listens to hard rock loud, even 25 Watts on 93 dB / Watt Kensington SE wasn't nearly enough power for me. Maybe if I were just listening to a nice lady sing at very moderate volumes. Tannoys are efficient, but not efficient enough that 7 Watts won't involve some serious restrictions or compromise.

Hej mulveling

Fortunately I'm listening at very moderate volumes and my listening position is about 2,5 meters from the speakers in a 17 square meter sized room.

Tannoy Legacy Eaton is at 89dB sensitivity, but what really matters is how flat the impedance is. I've been searching the net but haven't found any measurements. The best is to find someone who actually tried these speakers with a 7 watt amplifier.

Anyone compared Eaton with Cheviot?
