A pair of McIntosh MC75 MkII amplifiers arriving

I was going to wait until they were in the house before spilling the beans, but I am too excited about my new McIntosh MC75 amplifiers to hold back the news. My McIntosh dealer in Gainesville located a mint pair of MC75's at another dealer in Florida. They were traded by the original owner back to the original selling dealer when the customer upgraded to MC2301's. I am trading in my MC452 as part of the deal. Since I have no interest in wrestling that 110 pound amplifier, 143 pounds in the shipping boxes, the dealer is sending two techs to my home, a 55 mile drive each way from their store, to deliver and unpack the MC75's, and pack and remove the MC452. The MC75's arrive this coming Tuesday afternoon. . :yahoo:

I dug into my tube locker this afternoon. I have a full set of my preferred tubes (2-Gold Lion ECC83/12AX7, 4-Siemens ECC801S/12AT7, 4-Gold Lion KT88) waiting for the MC75's to arrive. I addition, I have two Wireworld Silver Electra power cords and two Furutech Flux 50's that will power the amps from a dedicated 20 amp circuit terminated to a PS Audio Soloist Supreme SE outlet. Things are looking up for the Tuesday afternoon delivery. The MC75 amps are going to sound amazing in the living room sound system.

Dan-

May your heart flood with joy!
Well done on locating the amps and the trade/delivery package. Sure makes the transaction smooth and easy.

As I have said before, preferred the 275 over the 452 by a small margin and the 75's over the 275 by a large margin. Even preferred the 75's over the 2301's but we'll let that dog sleep.

It would be interesting if you made your tube/PC/Furutech changes one by one over the out of the box sound but it's your ship captain and proceed as you decide. Looking forward to review and most importantly...

Enjoy the Sounds!

Congratulations Dan.....looking forward to your review. When I bought my MC452 I was considering the MC75 but never got around to listening to them.

John.......Not a bad suggestion with respect to PC's, tubes, and Flux 50 additions. I'll give this some thought, but most likely the Silver Electra PC's will go on immediately. I have not used any amplifiers over the past six years or more with the stock power cords, always WW Silver Electra power cables right out of the box. I may give the stock tubes a fair shake, then add the Flux 50's at a later date. I appreciate your suggestions.
