Jana Dagdagan's Superb Audio System videos

I've been watching John Darko's videos for the last several months and have noted that all of his excellent videos are edited by videographer and video editor, Jana Dagdagan.

Jana used to work for Stereophile and Audiostream, but is now free-lance, as far I can tell. She's based out of NYC. She now has her own YouTube channel called Earspace that focuses on capturing the experience of listening to audio system at a show or in someone's showroom or home.

Jana's video and audio production values are superb, in my experience, and all the more remarkable because Jana does all the production, from videography and editing, to audio recording, mixing and masteriing. For best audio quality, Jana uses a binaural recording methodology and carefully controlled placement for the most accurate audio reproduction.

She's also intelligent, articulate, genuine, knowledgeable, funny, and...absolutely lovely and charming.

Here's none other than marketing legend Seth Godin's comments on her first video posted at Earspace:

"This is brilliant. A whole new vernacular, beautifully put together, generous, funny, clever, real. Bravo!"

Here are some links the gang may enjoy, and I encourage you to subscribe to her YT channel.

Her "I'm back" introductory video (of note is her comment that its amazing to her that anyone would enjoy watching anything she's made)

Some systems...including John DeVore's shop in Brooklyn, NYC

Vinnie Rossi's room at NY Audio Show...

Kii III system of a friend

She also makes "Mood" videos...

Hope you enjoy these as much as I do. If you watch them on your computer or iPhone, and have a Dragonfly USB DAC, I encourage you to use that and headphones to listen to the audio quality.

Very, very talented, a gem...however I would rate her skills as an Editor (JD videos) higher than her chops with a camera (compared to Olaf von Voss also of JD videos).

Love the way she uses overlays and the way she tells a story through images, subtly spiced with witty humor.

Although I always found it a bit awkward to assess the performance of a system through your own system via an audio compressed youtube video, I guess Alfredo is the best you can do under the circumstances.

The irony is that John Darko made a video kind of invalidating this approach.

One thing is for sure. Jana is on a mission. We should be grateful she is. The DeVore video was an eyeopener for me as I was completely oblivious to the brand.

I subscribed to her channel and look forward to new content.

I really, really wish for this clever witty gifted story teller to succeed and grow.

How many AA members are there ? We should all subscribe and support her.

I had the pleasure of meeting Jana at AXPONA a few years ago when she was working for Stereophile. I told her I really enjoyed her youthful enthusiasm in audio reporting which I found very refreshing and that whatever they were paying her wasn't enough. She smiled thanking me for the compliments and said maybe I should be her agent. She's as delightful and sincere in person as she comes across on her videos and I wish her continued success.

Subscribed. Just great stuff - a refreshing take from a woman!, which I think adds a lot somehow. Thanks for pointing this out.
