How do WireWorld cables work their magic?

I've been a "believer" about the positive sonic benefits of WireWorld Silver Eclipse/Electra for years now and have bought the whole loom of wires. I hear more clarity, smoothness and a lower noise floor without harshness. This has made for many long and pleasant listening sessions.

But would these Wireworld cables have to defy the laws of physics to do this as some would argue? I have never bought the argument that what I am hearing is nothing more than an "imaginary perception" to justify owning expensive cables and that people who buy these cables are been suckered or fooled. But just how are these Wireworld cables accomplishing what I am hearing? Are they somehow filtering out the "nasties" that standard cable don't? I can hear the positive effects on the sound of my system, but Is there scientific prove of how WireWorld does this?

If you have had plenty of " long and pleasant listening sessions" with those WW cables, I wouldn't worry about scientific proof of why you're enjoying them.

How a well designed cable works?
TMO: it doesn't influence the signal, avoids signal losses and protects the signal from external distortions and radiations.
However: it's not 100% doing this (which is impossible), but close to it.

^^ What @jororupp said! ^^

There are some cables that are intentionally designed to alter the signal according to the designer's preference, by making the sound warmer or to emphasize detail for example. You can accomplish this by balancing the cable's electrical parameters (resistance, capacitance, inductance) to achieve the desired sonic characteristics. The problem with this type of cable design is that it tends to be very system dependent.

In my opinion the better cables are those that are designed to minimize any impact on the signal, by balancing the electrical parameters to be as close to neutral as possible. This type of cable design will let you hear each component as it is designed, warts and all, with minimal editorializing of the resultant sound. Protecting the delicate signal from the influence of EMI and RFI is more important than ever these days with our noisy electrical environments, and can be done with discrete shielding or cable geometry designed to limit any induced noise.

Wireworld cables are designed for transparency to the signal and let you hear the potential of your system. Any particular system setup might at times benefit from some editorializing, but if your gear is up to it cable like WW will let you hear what it's truly capable of reproducing.

I've had Wireworld (analog) interconnects in my system for several years......so far they are the most neutral cables I've tested. I did some direct comparisons with several high quality analog interconnects......transparent, MIT, Audioquest and Kimber to name a few. I always came back to the Wireworld Silver and Gold Eclipse in my system. They had the most straightforward presentation without emphasizing any frequency spectrum. The second thing that I noticed (escpecially when compared to the Audioquest interconnects) was that their presentation was a bit more "clean and accurate". This is really hard to put into words but it seemed that the WW cables cleaned up the musical presentation and made it "less messy" if you will. This was very noticeable when I compared a pair of Gold Eclipse to a pair of AQ Colorados which are nice cables. So far I haven't heard anything better in my system, the disclaimer is that I've never tried any of the VERY expensive products like Nordost Odin, Shunyata Sigmas or MIT Oracle level products.

How do WireWorld cables work their magic?

In the absence of in home demos, experiencing different high end cables is a very expensive experiment. Even after reading opinions, you almost never know what you may get.

That is partially why I jumped into the WWW (WireWorldWorld) when I decided to up the ante on my listening. Iván made it easy.

I do wonder from time to time what a change from Silver Eclipse to Gold would give me on my ICs but rest easy knowing it might only be more of the characteristics I already have.

The only WW cable I am thinking of replacing is the Silver Elektra PC from the wall to my Denali. I am waiting for some other things in my system to settle down and for TheCableCo to offer the Alpha / Sigma XC on demo.

tima, I would like to know more about the science of why WireWorld cables work to counter some of the "non-believers" I encounter. One of the arguments I have heard from a member of the British studio engineering crowd stated that standard qualify cables such as Beldon or Mogami are used in top studios because they are good enough so that any differences in sound as compared to hi-end cables like WireWorld would be so small as to be imperceptible.

jororupp, thanks for your feedback. That is how I see it too.

audio bill, thanks for your reply. My impression of WireWorld cable is that rather than letting me hear the "warts" in the signal, my WW cables seem to be rather somehow removing or cleaning the "warts" from the signal that would be there with standard cables.

audioguy and crwilli That is my experience with WW too.
