IWC - Service Report

1 Attachment(s)
Had my IWC GST sent off to the IWC service center in Ft. Worth (at least the one we used) for a complete service. I purchased the watch from Radcliffe in Towson, MD and they sent it out for me. A new dial & hands cost a total of $140 (compared to the $700 for my Rolex) and the turn-around time was about 6wk, which is not bad. The watch came back looking like new. Not only was it packaged/wrapped well, but IWC returned it in a new, leather covered IWC logo box, so now have that. Props to Erik Spzer at Radcliffe for his excellent service, as well as IWC for theirs.

I had purchased an IWC from a friend, I have no idea what model name/number it is. It needs to be hand wound. I need to send it to IWC. I need to explore whether they will deal with a consumer directly.

Are you saying the "complete service" was only $140.00? If so that is an incredibly good price. My Omega Speedmaster is about $750.

IWC service is top notch.
My Pilot chrono felt on the floor once.
Although perfectly working, the movement was noisy and vibrating.
IWC Paris store had their technician look at it. They changed the bearing free of charge and gave me back the watch like new.
I should also add that the watch was bought used a few years ago and I was not a known customer for them.

I had my Pilot's Chronograph serviced several years ago. About $650 if I remember correctly and that did not include polishing it.

That was the total to me with a new set of hands. However, Radcliff may have paid more for their part of the bargain. I did not ask. Been running perfectly since.
