Speaker Demos at AC
 

Monday was a fun day. My GF, Dog, and I drove up to AC in NY which was a 5 hour drive each way. We were greeted by Mike Sastra. Once the introductions were finished we moved into the demo room.

Thanks to Mike for allowing me to bring in my 11 year old Chocalate lab into the store while we demo'ed speakers.

MC501's and MC1.2KW

Speakers
PMC PB1i
PMC EB1i
Mcintosh XRT1K

Used the MC501's with the PB1i's and the EB1i's. Used the MC 1.2KW's with the EB1i's and the XRT1K's.

Well what did I think.

PMC PB1i
- Good Imaging
- a very nice smaller speaker

PMC EB1i
- Nice Bass extension
- Warm/intimate sounding
- sounded good with a wide range of music recording quality

Mcintosh XRT1K
- great soundstage

The PMC EB1i's were the only speakers that I used both amps on.

MC501
- punchy/tight/fast great sounding amp

MC1.2Kw
- smoother great sounding amp
- More power
- Bigger blue meter :hypnotize:

So what did I bring home with me??

I'm thinking you didn't do ten hours of driving to come home empty handed. You're already breaking the EB1i's in as you read these posts. :thumbsup:

No, didn't even ask.

We spent several hours demoing speakers. Time was getting short since we still needed to drive back home. We did get to look at the 60th Anv Pre-amp and amp which I thought was pretty cool but I have no use for. And of course we had to demo the XRT2K's with the MC2KW's, C1000, MDA/MCD1000 system. So nice but I just don't have an extra $232K in the bank.

They are still enroute. Couldn't fit them into my car and leaving the GF and the dog were not an option. Although Mike did offer to keep my dog.
