New watch today:

Rolex 16610 Sub, black, date
a new model just came out, wider case at the lugs, sightly different clasp and a ceramic bezel...I actually prefer the older model...

first shop, no dealing, said the older version would be worth more over time...
the second shop gave me $900 off (although I had bought a watch there before)...

really liking it, very classic and robust...

my first Rollie (I know, not the camera) :D

Congrats, a classic!

Congrats on the new watch, you picked the right one.

Nothing like a good even coat of dirt to protect the finish! ;)

I've owned three SS/ Sub/Date Rolex watches - and my wife has given each of them to my sons - She actually took one of them right off of my arm and presented it to my youngest - He loves it, I miss it. The darn things have increased in price so much I can't justify or rationalize buying another -

I'm stuck wearing my (old) steel & gold Rolex Datejust and a couple of Breitlings (which everyone here seems to despise). Think I'll get a Timex.

My favorite is my two tone/black sub. . Enjoy !

been checking the rate...
lost 3-4 sec in 3 full days (72 hours), ~1 sec/day
well within spec (COSC -4 / +6 per day)
should settle in nicely when run in...

Arthur....congrats to you! That's a fine looking timepiece. It will last forever. I wear a stainless with black face sub everyday and have had no problems. You'll enjoy it very much, congrats again.
