Something with their presentation doesn't add up... First of all there have been very similar looking tourbillon watches available for even less (I've seen them for as low as $600 at times) which are manufactured in China. They've been known for their impressively decorated appearance along with poor reliability. While they claim that the same master watchmakers who make the expensive tourbillons are making these, I noticed that there are no Swiss Made markings visible on the front or back of the watch that I can see. Secondly they claim that several hundreds of hours of these artisan's work is required to assemble one of these watches, yet if that's so then they're only getting a few bucks an hour in order to meet the selling price. So despite their claims I suspect that these are nothing more than a re-marketing of some cheaply made and poor quality tourbillons which have been available at similar or lower pricing for years.

After doing some reading after watching this I agree.

Feel free to spend 6 figures for a Tourbillon with Swiss markings then. :yes:

Or just continue to not own one

I’m skeptical on how good of a watch it really is, even though it’s a tourbillon.

I'm not about to purchase a true Swiss Made tourbillon, but was just pointing out that their claims that these are made by the same watchmakers is dubious at best. Thought people considering this watch should realize what they're likely to actually be getting. Seems that the phrase "if a deal seems too good to be true..." would apply here.

Define a “watchmaker”? So if a skilled watchmaker does not work for Patek Philippe he is not a worthy watchmaker? Even if a watchmaker in China is putting together a fake watch with complications with skill and precision, is he not a watchmaker? If you are an experienced physician working in your private practice and another is on staff at the Mayo Clinic, does that make you less of a physician? The snobbery is precisely the target client of the Swiss watch makers with their exhuberant prices.

Watch making by the way is long ways from what it used to be. The high level of automation and CNC lathes/milling machines making small parts is the norm. You are not going to see the old fashioned wheel cutting by hand for many reasons. :no: So the final assembly by the men dressed in white lab coats with an eyepiece loupe putting the finishing touches on the outrageously expensive watches in the Swiss "cartel" is a great illusion of the old artesian craft. :smoking:
