What Blues are you Listening To Today?
Right Ivan, Here we go!

Oh, so THIS is the blues thread...then here we go!
Cephas & Wiggins - Somebody Told the Truth http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...500_AA280_.jpg I've just finished listening to this album for the first time. A little acoustic guitar picking and some harmonica. Being a fan of the harmonica, I'm glad that I have some of that music in my collection. This is a pretty stripped down album...nothing fancy, clean sound, and nice harmonica...a couple live tracks mixed in. Not the greatest I've ever heard, but I enjoyed it. |
and here's the new CD I mentioned on the Poll... excellent, vocals by Beth Hart.... I'll be picking up a few more of her CD's for sure..

*wipes some mud off my face*..damn..that man is......
:superman: ;) |
Next up, another first listen to one of my blues CDs:
John Jackson - Front Porch Blues http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...500_AA280_.jpg Apparently, this was the last album John Jackson recorded before his death. A former gravedigger, he lived his life in the Fairfax, VA area. The first three tracks have a bit of a folksy feel to them...his voice is gravelly, but I find it a comfortable listen...I even get a slight sense of peace from his music. |
