Listening Chairs

I don't seem to find much on this essential piece of equipment.

Currently use an Ekornes Recliner. I am semi satisfied. This is a nicely finished chair but it is not comfortable for extended listening or particularly viewing sessions.

Please share your preferences.

I went with a full size leather couch....I was afraid of getting too comfy of a listening chair for fear of falling asleep during listening late at night. :boring: after a long day, still doesn't help too much!

I also find the Ekornes uncomfortable. The headrest pushes my head forward making the spinal alignment just like that of an osteoporotic little old lady. The headrest needs to keep the head and spine straight, not push the head forward.

A very good swivel/reclining executive desk chair may fit the bill best.

I, too, did not find the Ekornes to my liking, although many here seem to enjoy them. Because I was out after something, anything, that I could sit in comfortably given my back issues, I went around one weekend and sat in everything from the Ekornes to Lazy Boy to zero gravity. I finally settled on a Stickley. Love it, but I'm sure the style and sitting experience will not be for everyone. These things are so person specific.

Currently, I'm using some custom made Fortress seating swivel recliners.

What aspect of those chairs are custom made--aside from the leather color?

Gary... Fortress offers full custom configuration; style, back height, width, swivel, recline, color, 4 levels of leather grade.

May I ask approximately what those chairs (that I sat in) cost?

I've always admired everything about the look of these chairs.

Those LPs against the wall in waiting look all too familiar too!
