Very impressive. I bet it sounds as good as it looks. It's obvious a lot of planning went into designing your system. Well done.

I have Listening Room Envy!

TOGA 05-29-2015 10:14 PM

Thank you very much everyone. My system grew considerably since 2007, you may see it grows from my album. But now it has reached the ceiling. So any upgrade from now will mostly be some fun experiment with accessories rather than mega buck equipments.

There are secrets heroes hidden in the back too such as Accuphase PS520 power supply and Oyaide R0 wall sockets and EE-FS2.6 main cables.

@TommyC the TT is TW Acustic Black Night. It has just arrived and installed with
Ortofon SPU A95 and Audio Technica AT33sa, the better cartridge will follow when gain enough analog experience. this is my first serious analog set up.

It would need a lot of lift to get those magicos off the ground!

Thank you. What time is departure? Great setup. I especially like the TW Acustic Black Night, with the contrasting finishes/colours.

TOGA 05-30-2015 10:18 AM

One surprise upgrade I made this year were CMS rack system.
It made such a big improvement. Low level details appeared more,
Smoother sound, better bass weight and definition.

One headache I have is the sound of system changed a lot by changing wall sockets and any cables.
And it is difficult to make decision which one is right. But I think this is also the fun part.

Toga.

analog brother 05-30-2015 01:05 PM

hi toga,

your system looks magnificent!
with the cms racks and amp stands, do the gear just sit on the shelves?
or is there anything between gear and shelf?
are any isolation products, like stillpoints, recommended? or all of that is addressed in the shelving?

antipop 05-30-2015 02:13 PM

This is one great looking system ! You must be so excited to have it all setup now.

Thank you.
CMS provided thin metal discs to put under gear's feet. And stressed in the manual that these disc must be used. That is all I do.

Hi, Gorges. Thank you. Unfortunately Tw is out of service now. I am waiting for new platter. So at the moment, Accuphase digital player is serving alone. Expect to get the platter back in a month or two.

New platter? What happened? Please tell us the story.

You must be one of the few on AA to RTFM! Must be all that pilot training.

TOGA 05-31-2015 08:05 AM

@John49, in the manual, it repeats times after times that the metal disc must be used. and do you know that 300 hours is the official time that CMS will provide maximum benefit after you put the weight down.! That is what in the manual. I tried to avoid to write about TW mishap. I don't want the company to contact me again, it happened to me twice. Right here in AA. But once the box is open I take good shots of all parts before we started to assemble. I found two clear marks or scratches on top of that shiny copper platter. For the price I paid for Black Night, this should be taken care of, although it will be hidden under platter rubber mat later on. And yes dealer agreed to replace it for me. Later on, after carefully look at those marks, we found out that they were not scratches, but some hair from carpet or brush fell on to the coating before it cured or dried and stayed like fossil on top of the platter. So the Quality Control person had an off-day. Sorry it was your platter that he missed. Good luck with the replacement, it's a great turntable.

Toga, have you tried the Gryphon Kalliope DAC against the Accuphase?

No I haven't. The last time I went to dealer, I didn't see that flagship DAC.

parkcaka 06-12-2016 03:43 AM

Toga, very nice setup.

I need your advice.

I also purchased Mephisto + Q3. Digital side is dCS.

I can't decide on a Pre. How was your Pandora experience?

Cheers.

parkcaka 06-12-2016 01:30 PM

Directly connecting dCS to Mephisto is also an option.

TOGA 10-09-2018 11:50 AM

Hello there,
Time flies..
I have disappeared for long time because of once the AA ios app didn't work with late iPad ios, then membership expired. work has been busy and new born baby kept me away from
late night music as I used to had.
I think I have succeeded, in stop changing equipment.

In 2018, Magico Q7 Mk I remained, with wonderful QPod added. Gryphon Mephisto
Stereo is still there, but connected via Opus G5 sc. Source is now a very musical
AYON CD-36 Signature CD/SACD Player. Oh and PS Audio P15 power conditioner is
coming in a few months.
on the HT side, I moved from Marantz AV8003 to 8802A and now 8805. with OPPO 203
as source and will be soon replaced by Pioneer UDP LX800. Projector is now JVC RS640.
That are all the changes I made since 2015.

Toga
