Constellation preamp Audio Electronics/Cary Audio
I was looking at the new: Constellation preamp by Audio Electronics/Cary Audio made in the USA sold direct at $1495.00
It uses 2 – 6SN7GT tubes which I do not know much about. When I had Sonic Frontiers stuff the 6922 tube was the most common. Will the output impedance of 560 ohms create a issue with McIntosh MC302? opinions of this preamp? Dan |
Constellation preamp & Hercules amp by Audio Electronics/Cary Audio
Dan,
After six years, I can provide you some feedback. It should not have issue when combo with MC302. I got a rare chance to purchase a set of NOS Constellation and Hercules three weeks ago, and I love these preamp and amp. *Great quality for the price, which is very cheap for such quality IMO. *Very low gain, and the sound quality is great. *Remote is handy. *For tubes, you can use 6SN7GT, 6SN7GTA, 6SN7GTB, and "ECC33". *There is no other types of input/output, and there is only RCA connectors. (that's how Cary keeps the cost down) Wes https://unsplash.com/photos/yicMFHi9lOU |
