What a great system. Simple, clean, I like it! The GM's in graphite are beautiful. How about a couple close-up shots of the Electrocompaniet gear. I like the cabinet also, who's the maker?

Very nice. Enjoy!:music:

Thanks Doug !!

I made the cabinet myself :D
Couldn´t find anything in the right size, so I had to make it myself.

Gert-Jan, nice work on the cabinet! I love the simple but elegant styling of the Electrocompaniet gear. If you add an ECD-1 in place of the Bifrost you would be all set... Of course then you might need to make a larger cabinet!

Thanks for the pictures.

Doug, I´m just using the Bifrost to listen to Spotify via my iPad, so it´s sufficient in that (and the Schiit sounds great )
I just saw that Electrocompaniet brought out a new DAC: the ECD-2, might have a look at that in the future, but right now my EMC-1 still delivers the "goods" for me, so no need for another DAC, yet.

We all know about that word! ;)

I love the Memento in that finish. Great looking room.

Gert-Jan,
Really nice and clean system. Excellent job on the cabinet.

Wasatch 01-29-2013 02:55 PM

Nice.

AudioPhilio 01-29-2013 04:25 PM

Gert-Jan,
Your system is very nice! I love the graphite finish on the GM speaker. Great job on building your rack. It makes this hobby even more satisfying when you can sit back and admire your own contribution.

Thanks!!

It was real nice to be able to build my own rack, to my own specs.

Gert-Jan, heel mooi!
Very well done.
Electrocompaniet has nice gear.
Enjoy!

DonBattles 01-29-2013 06:17 PM

Nice! I've always loved the graphite finish on SF's over all the others.

jdandy 01-29-2013 06:25 PM

Gert-Jan.......You have a fine looking sound system. Thanks for letting us see it.

Volks 01-30-2013 12:22 AM

Gert-Jan very nice indeed!:)

Ritmo 01-30-2013 07:28 AM

Very nice system! Like the simplicity and look. The SFs look beautiful!

gerzom 02-02-2013 09:30 AM

Today I replaced my Shunyata's by a pair of Yter XLR. Now all cables in my system are Yter, synergy works really well.

AudioNut 02-02-2013 09:41 AM

Wish I'd ordered my SF Guarneri Mementos in graphite - they are beautiful!

Sitting here looking at (and listening to) my Mementos and wondering if a couple of cans of spray paint would do the job! . . . :D

I love the looks of your system.

Thanks Julian,

luckily I had the choice at my dealer when I bought my Guarneri´s.
My wife more or less told me the "orange" ones would not get into our house, so I settled for the Graphite ones (my preference as well  )

I own the Mementos as well and those speakers are amazing. Friends hear them and look at me and say "is it just those two little speakers playing?" They do need power I've found. In the right room with the right gear, they are wonderful. Of course, I love the Sonus Faber sound anyway.....

A.P.P. 02-06-2013 10:28 AM

Nice system

I am more of a Wilson Audio man, but those italians are beautiful.
The looks are amazing, and SF with Electrocompaniet must have a great sinergy.

Enjoy! :music:

Thanks!

I must say I really like the combination of Sonus Faber and Electrocompaniet with a splash of Yter cables

I had an old buddy of mine over the other day (we haven't seen each other in 20 years but "found" each other again via an audio forum  )
He was blown away by the sound of my set, he liked the relaxed and laidback sound. He kept looking far a hidden subwoofer, as he couldn't believe the Memento's did that all by themselves.
We had a great time sharing music and talking about the past 20 years (damn time flies!!!!)
Now it's time to visit him and listen to his set, he is using Pathos and Zinghali.

Rtan 02-16-2013 08:48 AM

Nice looking set up. Perfect!

Stereo-head 02-16-2013 09:39 AM

Very nice system. It does look nice, neat and simple. Bet it rocks

Thanks for sharing with us.

iamhifi 02-16-2013 02:00 PM

What a beauty and great sounding, Enjoy it,
Angel

Masterlu 02-16-2013 02:04 PM

Gert-Jan... Very nice system, thanks for sharing!

gerzom 03-18-2013 04:12 PM

I ordered a Lessloss DFPC original power cable today, it will arrive Thursday, can't wait to start testing it in my system. I have read a lot of positive reviews of these cables.

To be continued

Congrats! Hope it turns out to be a good purchase.

BTW, that pic above instantly reminded me of Medusa. LOL

Thanks Charles!
Great pic by the way. :tresbon:

gerzom 04-03-2013 03:12 AM

I added a LessLoss coax S/PDIF cable to the "collection" as a prequel to my anticipated DAC upgrade (from Bisfrost to Gungnir)

Thanks Bill,

I will have to wait a bit till I upgrade my current DAC to hear it´s full potential I guess, but as you don´t see this cable 2nd hand that often, I had to buy it. :scratch2:

gerzom 04-04-2013 10:30 AM

Schiit Gungnir will be here in 2 to 3 weeks !!!

Almeida Mendes 04-04-2013 01:17 PM

Simple but elegant system. Very nice.

I bet there is a real synergy between the Sonus Faber and the YTER cables.

That Schiit is so cheap, I feel like buying just for the hell of it to see what all the fuss is about!!!

That was more or less my reasoning behixnd ordering the Bifrost without listing to it. Their gear is awesome in sound and build quality, so I'm upgrading to the Gungnir without listing to it, again :scratch2:
