Stupid ROON Question

When I locate an album and hit “play now”, it doesn’t play the tracks in order. I must be missing a setting or something, but it’s driving me nuts. I know that actually listening to an entire album in the order in which the artist intended it is an antiquated notion, but just call me funny that way.

Thanks in advance, and apologies if I have missed something obvious.

You might have the Radio mode turned on. IIRC, Roon in Radio mode will next play something similar to your first track of your album that is also in your library.

If you want to play the entire album, select the first track and press Play From Here button, or go to the top of the screen for the entire album and press Play Now (see attached pic).

Sounds like you have Shuffle activated.

Go to "Settings", then "Play Actions", then "Albums". Make sure that "Shuffle" is off.

This one got me before!

Go to the Queue. Look towards the top right of the screen sure the Shuffle button is not the color "Blue".

See it circled in red on the upper right.

To change:
Go to Settings > Play Actions, then under Albums check that Shuffle is enabled.

Many thanks to everyone. Will try this tonight while the wife is dealing with the Halloween crowd and I’m huddled downstairs with the dogs and the system.

I think this (the blue button in the queue screen) was the magic. Thanks very much everyone.

Just a reminder to decide whether you want the "Radio" function to initiate when you finish with your queue. That button is at the bottom right of the same screen. I normally don't use that option so "yes" is not selected.

The Radio function has introduced me to a lot of artists that I previously had not listened to or been aware of. Obviously they are not all for me, but exposure to them has been a revelation at times

I tried the radio for a while and it made me a bit nuts. I’m still an FM fan, so the algorithmic nature of it got to me, but I readily admit that’s just me (and there is lots of good stuff to discover). I also admit that much of the music one hears on fm is programmed (just not the stations I listen to).
