C2300 Remote accessing MDA1000?

Hmmmmm... Well reading the instruction manual didn't offer any insight. :sigh:
What I'm trying to do is access the MDA input selector via C2300 remote. I first thought maybe I had the data port connected wrong! Well... I did!! Fixed it!! Now the MDA flashes "BYPASS ON" is the only result I see. I just assumed that one would access that unit data port function on the C2300 remote. Then select appropriate corresponding button, for the desired results? It's gotta be that easy!?

Signed, Clueless

Ken......On my C1000 remote the button labeled AM (output 1 in blue above the button) cycles my MCD500 inputs form CD to Coax to Optical, and back to CD. I don't have to press the blue button first, just press the AM button. Give it a try.

Nope!! When I press the AM or FM button all I get is "BYPASS" flashed...

Ken.......Just to be certain, you are using a stereo mini plug for the data cable, correct?

Try this with the C2300 remote. Press the AM button followed by pressing one of the Numbered Push-Buttons to select the desired Digital Input of the MDA1000.

Nothing.... Just make sure I didn't miss something... The din plug has 2 black rings on it? I'm trying to get in back and take a picture showing the routing. See if that shed some light...

Thank you

Ken.......I must be missing something here. When I look at the MDA/MCD1000 owner's manual I don't see any din plug on the rear of the MDA1000 Converter. On the rear apron I see the balanced and unballanced jacks for left and right audio outputs, the seven various digital inputs, the seven switched data ports (mini stereo plugs), the power control in and out (mini stereo plugs), the data in (mini stereo plug), the IR input (mini stereo plug), and the power cord connector. I am drawing a total blank about any din plug.

As I understand the data cable wiring scheme, you run a single data cable (mini stereo plug) from the Data In port on the MDA1000 Converter to the CD Data port on the C2300. Is this how it is connected?

Sorry about the miss understanding of the plug type. I think I remember it also being called mini stereo din plug over the years. I stand corrected about the plug type. I've uploaded pictures of the wiring of the stereo mini plugs, and the results when I push AM or FM. WOW.... cough...cough it's dusty back here. Looks like a job for SPRING cleaning! :(

Ken.......Does the MDA1000 switch inputs using its own remote without a problem?

MDA1000 to it's remote works just fine. I did place a call to McIntosh tech support. Tech support hinted that was an unknown combination of a setup. The quote is a follow " I call you back we are going to test that setup." Hmmmm looks like a rom update to the C2300..

Ken.......McIntosh remote controls have always been a hodge-podge of functionality between the different model remotes. It is a shame.
