What are the available upgrads for supper scoutmaster TT

I was thinking of upgrading my super scoutmaster, I'm not sure which of the 3D tonearms would work I currently have the 9" arm with the Valhalla wire. Also which MC cartridges would pair up with which arms. I would just get new table but wife would notice, don't think she will notice new tonearms and cart. LOL. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance

No way my wife would know the difference, and she is quite observant. :naughty:

Hi ,

If you don't have a VPI VTA tower get one . She won't notice. A 3D tonearm would b nice w/ a Lyra Etna . Then w/ the tower you can optimize the VTA. Also may I add if possible a Soundsmith Counterintuitive, a Fogzometer w/ the Acoustic Test Record, to optimize azimuth.
I also have the same situation as you , my wife is smart and easily discovers / spot if there is a new toy in my man cave. Like for example when I replaced my audio research Classic 150 monoblocks w/ the REF 610T she took notice at once and as usual the " we have to talk " happened . At least she did not notice the SP11 gone & replaced by a REF 5

930

do you happen to know which tonearm that would work best? Do all VPI arms work?

Thanks in advance

Richard-

VPI has great customer support. If you give them a call, they will mull various options around with you. You can then factor that in with others experience here. Also, check out their blog off their website if you haven't already done so.

No 9" 3-D arm as of yet. But, believe the 10" arm will work with Scoutmaster. You can also go with a rim-drive system.
