Mc452 installation advice
 

I just put together two new racks and have my 452 sitting on the bottom level directly on the cross members of the rack. The amp feet are about a 1/4" off the ground. I feel ignorant for even asking, but I was curious if this was generally a bad idea? I'm still contemplating removing the cross sections and letting it sit on the floor or attaching Stillpoints or something, which is a whole other topic. This isn't my picture but this is generally what the rack looks like although mine is set up in a more narrow fashion.

i got it. I decided to just remove the supports. My OC was killing me..The amps slide in and out easily and isolation feet will be an easy addition.

Good idea to take the amp off the steel support IMHO. I have found putting the amp on a piece of butcher block further improves the sound. On Amazon, Michigan Maple have worked well for me. Or cutting up an old counter/bench top will work as well.

Thank you for the response John. I'm not even sure why I had even originally left it like that. I was really just started out figuring out spacing. I guess it was late, the amp was heavy, and it seemed to work out so I just let it be. I just wasn't sure if there was some other basic idea about metal to metal contact being bad other than the lack of isolation. Thank you for the tip about Michigan Maple. He builds nice stuff. Ironically butcher block is one of the products I sell as a distributor. They are just too thick for the amp to fit in the spacing that I have. I'm thinking of swapping the stock feet out for isolation feet.
