I like the new units in Black halo and parasound

They did look great. Serious value in this room.

Agreed. I put a pair of black JC-1's into my system four months ago to drive my new Legacy Whisper XD's. They're stacked one on top of the other, and even in that configuration they look (and, obviously, sound) great.

I've got a custom-made rack on order from Billy Bags. When it arrives, I'll swap out the JC-1's and put my McIntosh MC-2000 back in the system to see how it sounds.

I've always liked Parasound and Monitor Audio.

I believe that one is the updated Dr. Fiekert Woodpecker turntable with a 12" Jelco tonearm and the Acoustical Systems Arché headshell. The headshell is really neat and allows for azimuth and VTA! I believe the package goes for around $8K. It'd be a tough choice between it and the VPI, they're both great tables.

You're right needed to read the question more closely.
