Ma8900
I have decided to trade in my MAC6700 w/HD tuner and DAC150 towards a MA8900 since I do not use the tuner and the MA8900 has the built-in MCT input (I bought the DAC150 when I purchased the MCT450). Now the wait begins. One less piece of equipment and one less pair of WW Series 7 balance ICs in my rack. Only inputs to be used are for the MCT450 and an MSB-upgraded iPod (waiting to hear from MSB about a NIB iLink they have).

Cool, congrats! I like the looks of the 8900, have not heard one yet though.

That will be a nice system. I think the MA8900 is a beautiful integrated. The new upgradable DAC should make for a piece of equipment that will really hold its value.
I too use an Apple device (iPhone and iPad mini) with a dock that outputs the digital stream of my AIFF music files. Until that doesn’t work, I see no need to change. Plus I like the look of my iPad docked next to my preamp with the CD cover art on display. The image is about the same size as a CD case. |
MA8900 to be delivered tomorrow - before the $500 price increase. Thank you Ivan for the heads-up.

Loving the integrated. I have my B&W DB2D sub hooked to Output 2. Anyone know if this Output can be trimmed? The dB of my sub is quite low and I am thinking it may be trimmed. Nothing in owners manual that I can find.

I ran a set of ICs from PWR AMP to Output 2 and sound levels were normal. Looks like issue may be with the sub. Will reach out to dealer.

I love my MAC6700 immensely (my first ever 2 channel audio system), but having an upgradable DAC makes me quite envious! Well done sir.
