Cleaning the platter

I finally got my Avenger up and running. God did I get some finger prints on the side of the platter. Are Stainless steel cleaners safe to use? Just a damp cloth? But then there's water spots. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Tim.

I use a mild multi-purpose cleaner and microfiber cloth.

Mild? Like "Clean Green"?
Perfect. Is SS cleaner like one uses in a kitchen safe, I wonder.
