The TAS reviewed these pieces together in 2006 and the review was pretty positive, though not extensive.

They seem to be in the same price range as some McIntosh products. How do they compare?

Haven't heard their whole line but I can vouch for the 9008 A monoblocks and the 6010 D preamp with the I believe 1622 CDP. It was one of the best sounding systems I have heard in over 20 years.

Were the speakers you heard MBL or a more conventional design?

You'd never believe it.... KingSound Prince 2 electrostats. Well, the bass was just a tad lacking but the sound was the most natural, organic and simply intoxicating. :music: I spoke to the guy the other day and he is now running the Kings and says they are even better yet...

I also see what looks like Sunyata Hydra 4s behind the amps, and some Darkfield Elevators too. VERY snazzy!

Check out FM Acoustics as well. It might be a close call depending on how you like the sound. Prices are comparable to MBL.

Superb products FM Acoustics. One of the best sounds I ever heard was a compete FM system, including speakers coupled with a SPJ turntable and Lyra Titan MC cartridge
