Beautiful looking component!
Now, I am not very knowledgeable about the product. Is that an iPad that came with it or instructions on how to use an iPad if you have one? |

iPad. That's what I thought I was seeing. That attention to detail and subtle bonus is what its all about!
|
This is a very solid Music Server weighing in at 70lbs.

It is going to look absolutely incredible once installed. Congratulations. What a piece of
gear...! And then there is the sound driving the Aida's........ speechless. |
First Impressions:
Very easy setup CD Drive is silent while Playing or Ripping First Ripped CD of 14 tracks took 8 minutes Sound is Amazing! Much more to follow, as well as Pics... |
Congrats Ivan!
Looks very nice. |
Joe... It is an Insanely cool, and terrific "Reference Grade one Box" CD player/Server/DAC/Pre-Amp.
|
Ivan.......Are you also using the Burmester 111 as a preamplifier, or as a music server only in addition to the 088 preamp?

:lala::lala::lala: I can't hear you...... |
Dan,
The preamp in the 111 is equivalent to the 077, meaning a step above the 088. The 088 is Top Line, the 077 and 111 preamp section are Reference Line. |
What a beautiful piece of audio engineering.
You will need to use the white gloves so you don't get finger prints on it. WOW! ~Mike Had to take another look. That power cord is Killer too! |

Are there any CD sticking issues? :scratch2:

Ivan,
Give us an good review of how easy to use and how intuitive the user interface is. When I looked at the manual I was a bit concerned that is might not be as simple to get things going. It will be good to get your hands on review. Jim |
Very nice piece Ivan. I'm sure it's going to look and sound terrific in your Burmester-Aida room.

I would really interested to know how intuitive a German designed server considering their idrive in BMW was a nightmare. |

It can Rip & Play at the same time. |

I find the GUI very easy, and intuitive. I would say otherwise if I found it to be true. |
I'm listening to Boston right now; it sounds the best it ever has. I love the display, and the dimming capabilities of the backlighting.
Look for lots of pics over the next few days. |
The 111 is instantly responsive to the iPad.
It feels a bit strange to control such a high-end component and powerful amps with the touch of an iPad, especially the volume. Kind like controlling a Porsche with an iPad. :D |

Congrats on a very top notch fine musicserver. Bob |
This piece of gear is looking more and more interesting!
Especially at European prices... :scratch2: |
Do tell :)
|
Ivan, have you already been able to compare the ripped version to the original CD playback?

Normal & High Quality; high quality takes twice as long since it provides the best error correction. So far, I have only ripped in Normal mode and I can tell you once ripped the Redbook CD's do in fact sound better than the original playing. I know it sounds crazy; I will experiment and try the High Qualty option as well. |
