That looks like a fun room :)

I'm curious what anyone thought of the JBLs? You may not think that would be an ideal paring with all the other high end speaker lines available, but I'm sure they're probably pretty nice. Any news on them?

I think those are actually out of production.

I thought this room sounded very good. A big fun sound.

Karl.......The speaker above may be JBL's replacement for their JBL S4700 pictured below, or perhaps the other way around where the S4700 is the newest model.

The speakers pictured in the original post are the K2S9800's (circa 2001), superseded by the K2S9800SE's (circa 2006?) then by the K2S9900's (circa 2009 - current). Both 9800's used beryllium diaphragms in the midrange and uhf horns, the SE version used an updated crossover.

The S4700 (pictured above) is a current model but not at the 'K2' level, using lesser quality drivers and crossovers.

Great pictures MasterLou, thank you for sharing.

The speaker in Ivan's picture is an out of production K2 S 9800 SE.

The current model is the K2 s9900.

According to my information the K2S9800SE's only came in BG (high gloss black zebrawood) and WG (high gloss mahogany). The finish on the K2S9800 pictured appears to be medium metallic gray or dark grey which were only available on the non SE model.
