N10 Internet Radio to replace tuner
 

I was wondering if anybody removed their tuner from their system after adding the N10 and using it's internet radio capabilities?

If so, why? Convenience? Sound Quality?

irfbo.......I have the Internet option on my Aurender N10 and have saved a few streaming stations, although the tuners I listen to more often are my McIntosh MR88 and MR85. A clean terrestrial FM signal sounds considerable better than an MP3 digital signal. Internet radio has its appeal for the shear number of available stations but I won't be abandoning my terrestrial tuners.

I don't have Aurender but I do listen to some great sounding internet radio stations via Sonos. Commercial free and the selection is endless. No it's not as good as a stand alone good FM tuner, but as broadband improves internet radio will only get better.

I do not have an Aurender either (yet:)). But the MR85 IS better sounding than the laptop.
Only thing is, on this upstate mountain, the laptop sure does provide a wider array of choice.

quality heavily depends on the bandwith available.

Looks like I'll be holding onto my MC85 when/if :D I get the N10.

Bit disappointing. With current technologies you'd think they would stream internet radio at high quality and move 100% to the digital domain.

Have tried a little internet radio on my N10, but may check into Tidal for better sound although rather expensive. Anyone else going that route?

Tidal seems to be a great option as an alternative to buying CDs or other formats.

I'm still interested in listening to the good old radio stations. Good old FM, then there is DAB or DAB+ ... and internet radio ... I would almost say I get the impression there is less and less interest in developing "radio" to current SQ standards.
