New DB Series Subwoofers
 
A new flagship subwoofer series has been announced by Bowers & Wilkins. Containing three models within the DB Series, these are the most advanced subwoofers from the West Sussex based company yet.

Featuring the Aerofoil cone basss drivers as used in the brand's flagship 800 Series Diamond loudspeakers, the DB1D (12"), DB2D (10") and compact DB3D (8") the new range is said to incorporate new digital technology and materials advances.

While the DB1D has a 2000w amplifier, the smaller DB2D and DB3D subwoofers use 1000w amplifiers, a more compact version of the DB1D. According to B&W an all-new digital pre-amplifier ensures sound is always delivered at optimum levels, and implements B&W developed DSP technology such as Dynamic EQ and Room EQ ensure precision performance in every space.

While I don't have pricing in Euros for your market, below are prices in North America:

DB1D- $4500
DB2D- $3500
DB3D- $2500

Patrick. Is the room correction still done via windows computer software and a cord?

Setup and positioning is done via app. No microphone kit or cords required.

Correct. I've done the setup/calibration on a prototype sub, and it was a breeze. As long as your Android or iOS has the app and bluetooth is on, the app recognizes all the DB Series subs and allows you to adjust of of them independently.

Seems like a major improvement over the first generation.
Serious contender, especially here in Europe, where JL Audio suffers from the high $.
