Question -- why wouldn't you remove the stock footers, say on a McIntosh preamp & place the mini's so they make contact with the pressed-in threaded footer nut on the preamp (or place, say two in those locations ((up front)) and remaining two elsewhere towards the back (or all 4 where the pressed-in threaded footer nut is)????.

I realize after demos -- placement of these devices are quite different with an electromechanical device like a CD player. It probably requires the most tedious, time consuming experimentation for proper 'footer' location.

Has anybody here ever tried using only 3 Stillpoints Ultra SS or Ultra Mini under a component instead of 4? If yes, what were the results?
