I was thinking it was a ref DAC, but I just saw the box and the connections. Maybe a stand alone headphone DAC or a DAC down from the 5 and up from the Codex? All in one lifestyle products potentially??? Can't wait for announcement.

There is more than one device in that photo. One had the toggle wheel like QX-5 and one in the stack in the back looks like it has a large volume knob. It could be two of the same devices stacked on each other...but why do that?

Its too big to be a space station...I mean headphone amp.

My guess is dac down from 5 but up from Codex. I don't think the box looks like and R series.

It's definitely not R. Apparently new 8 series.

Thanks!!

Please ask them if they will ever do a Twenty Phono stage!

Long overdue!!!

:D

Guys, there may be a new phono eventually. They are working on a ton of new gear. I thought it was too early for them to bring the lower line to market, but from the looks of it, that's exactly what this is. I never asked about what series number they'd use, but 8 probably works. I'm sure you know more about it than many of us do. Very cool though.

It most certainly is the 8 series, replacing the discontued 7 and 9 series. Coming this fall.
