Longer RCA Interconnects

Hi AA,

I know that for longer interconnect XLR is not an issue but I would like to know on the other hand if a 4 meters long (157 inches) RCA interconnect is advised. I currently have a Kimber Select KS-1016 in 0.75M (32 inches) and would like the same but in a longer lenght due to a probable upcoming system reconfiguration. That IC would be used between my DAC and amplifier.

Thanks!

4-meter RCAs are no problem at all as long as the cable has a good braided shield. I have used cables as long as 30-meters without any issue.

Just don’t run them next to power cords.

I agree with the others that it should not be a problem, and have used longer SE cables than that without an issue.

Bonjour Serge, I run a pair of 5 m RCAs between my pre and power amps in the main system, no issue at all!
