Yeah? I'll take your word for it.

Believe it or not, they're absolutely mesmerising with the upper-range models of Verity Audio's speakers.

But especially smooth & sweet(without any hint of being sluggish or syrupy) partnered by the ribbon-tweetered Sarastro II's, which i heard them with in the MBK centre Bangkok last year.

Regards.

Bob

I Like Accuphase

Anyone knows what their patented technologies are and what benefits to end users?

I do know they are very well built, using very good parts.

I was also interested in this and had a look around.

Found they had at least these patents and maybe more. I have also included a quick a dirty summary of each patents use IMHO to give a feeling for where their technology R&D is focused. I think most of them are translated from Japanese and thus not exactly easily decipherable.

JP 2003-124812 - Trellis Type Noise Shaping Modulator (Basically a network of modulators to improve S/N ratio )

JP 2000-354300 - Multi channel audio device (For a specific type of room correction)

JP 2004-104269 - Signal switch and variable gain amplifier provided with the same (Very low noise switching and volume control)

JP2000-184500 - Audio power amplifier (A Very specific type of negative feedback with exceptionally low distortion)

JP 2000-230841 - Optical encoder (A method for reducing the number of optical lenses in a laser encoder - read disc player)

JP2000-252664 - Printed wiring board (Lower impedance and better thermal stability in amplification circuits)

JP2003-091428 - Electronic equipment provided with program updating function, and program updating system for the electronic equipment (I think updating a device using voice data?)

JP 2003-348492 - Door opening/closing apparatus for audio/video apparatus (Looks like a really cool mechanism for disc trays)

11 more to go...:scratch2:

Over the last 2 days, I have been listening to this setup at a local Hifi show and I would rate this my favorite room. Accuphase A-200 driving Piega speakers.

I share your view; I was there on the first day and spend about 30 minutes listening to this setup. I have heard a number of setups with A-200 at the various shows and show-rooms in Hong Kong, Japan & Singapore, so far I think is the best A200 setup I have heard.

Hi there :-)
I do not know what else they have done to it, but the 2nd and 3rd day .... is way better than the 1st day!

bart 11-30-2014 07:40 AM

Piega has good speakers!
They deserve to be better known on AA.

The A200's sure are special amps, no wonder you never see them show up used.

Very nice set-up.. Thanks for sharing!
Must have sounded amazing. Do you know the source and cabling used?
*Seems a single box player - DP-720 perhaps? (+ a DG-58?)

Looks like a DP720, C2820, DG58, A200.

I found out that cables used are Atlas cables.

Thanks.

Yes, they definitely deserve that. Especially Accuphase and Piega ist a very good match.

The Piega Master Line Source is an absolutely amazing speaker. I had the fortune to listen to it in Horgen directly at the Piega office.

I personally enjoy Piega 90.2 in combination with an Accuphase A-70 wich is a perfect match.

You should do it.

But it's strange, that such excellent equipment isn't popular in the UK.

Accuphase e-213 integrated - any opinions

Hi guys,

I cannot start my own thread yet and don't see anything on this model on the net that is trust worthy. Has anyone had any experience with the e-213? I have an opportunity to buy one in near new condition with all the box contents and original packaging. Before i decide to drive 2 hours to audition it, i was wondering if anyone had any feedback. I am also interested in the e-260 and was wondering if the was any significant sonic difference as the specs are similar. Any feedback is appreciated.

I appologize if this should not be in this thread

Thanks

Gord

The main technical (and audible) difference between a E-213 and e.g. a E-250/260 is the AAVA-volume control of the newer models. I suggest you to look for a E-250/260.

susu 02-07-2016 03:34 PM

or perhaps listening to a 370 as well....
I'm planning as well to buy an Accuphase.
They told me to avoid the base-model (all brands)

E470

Hi
I recently bought the E470 and totally wowed by it, but just one little niggle... does any one know how to disable, if possible, the amp going into sleep mode?
Mac

imprezap2 07-04-2016 12:42 AM

there is a way to do that, It is explained in the manual.

I'm sure it does, but I'm blind and unable to read it, so the question still stands.

So you want someone of us, without the manual, to solve this for you? Please take your manual and have a careful reading. Yes, you can do this - do it, go on ...

audio bill 07-04-2016 09:07 AM

Macspur - I did a search for the manual online but was unable to find it. Sorry that I can't be of more help without the manual. Good listening!

Higgens 07-04-2016 12:24 PM

US models don't have the sleep feature.

Hi Macspur,

This was discussed in the E-470 thread; here's the info you need:

"To disable ECO mode turn of the E-470 then hold the MONO Button while turning it on again. There will be an E-of sign in the display."

I think most people missed one single word in your first post asking for help.
Blind.
Otherwise they would've not answered that way, i bet.

I suspect your right... probably wondering how I can read this forum, but can't read a manual... I use screenreader software with my PC.
Cheers
