So long Sasha's.

Well, I feel like I barely got to know my Sasha's and GOD knows I enjoyed every minute of my time with them immensely. What a fantastic speaker. Pound for pound, foot print and dollar wise, by far the best speaker IMHO. But... an opportunity presented itself and I will be upgrading to the Maxx 3s that will someday reside in my new listening room. It will take another 4 months or so to complete that project so I will have to do without Wilson for the stretch of time since my dealer wants them for a display pair. Once the wait is over I should be enjoying the Wilson Maxx 3s and Polaris center in the new room. Until then, I will miss my Sasha's tremendously... :tears:

So I told my wife they are going back and she got genuinely upset and said she will miss them and the evening music that she got so used to over the years. Good news is that I showed her the Maxx 3 and Polaris pics and she loved them.

Not even sure what I will do in the mean time, I may have to "slum it" with a small pair of AV123 bookshelf speakers I have somewhere in storage... :tears: I may pack up the Lamm's so they don't waste their potential and life span with the bookshelf speakers. :scratch2:

Congrat's Serge... all you talk about Wilson's is getting me motivated to check them out for myself. Way to go!

Dennis, I've heard various Wilson's over many years at various places, they have always impressed me in some ways and intrigued me in others but I have never been able to fall in love with them completely. That is until I spent some time with the Sophia II in a store and then at my house. Ever since then, it was like a mad romance, I fell in love with the Sasha at a first listen, when I brought them home and hooked up the Lamm's to them, I simply melted in my chair. I expect the same from the Maxx 3s and for them to be my last investment into speakers for a very long time... It is a good thing I have a great relationship with my dealer, otherwise I'd go broke buying and selling the different Sonus Faber and Wilson speakers I've owned in such a short span of time. :D

Think of the bright side, you don't have to dust your gear! :)

Of course no sense in even unpacking my SME 20 turntable either until the next room. I wonder if I can persuade David to upgrade his and pick up his Technics table. :scratch2: Oh yeah, anyone have an integrated amp I can borrow to go along with my bookshelf speakers? :redface-2:

Wow, Serge! Congrats!! That is a long time to wait though.... :tears: I had to wait for about a month while mine were getting repainted, and it was so hard. The room seemed so empty. In the end though it will all be worth it!

So details! What color etc??!! :scratch2:

You're not kidding, I went without my system for almost 5 months a few years back and thought I was going insane. :D This will be a test of patience for sure... Haven't decided on color yet. :scratch2:

Deb, I wonder if it would be possible to ask someone to snap some pics as my pair is being built? That would be so cool!
