Argh, I sold my Ref5se... what was I thinking!
 

I sold my Ref5se this week, thinking I would find a gently used Ref 10 or be ready for the inevitable Ref 6, but I am having serious withdrawal pain. Does anyone know if a Ref 6 is coming anytime soon?

Man, the Reference 5se is an unbelievable preamp :nono:......I hope you had an interim plan in case you couldn't find an upgrade quickly......what are you doing in the meantime???

I also sold my Ref5se, but it was shortly after I purchased my Shindo Vosne Romanee pre-amp.

No withdrawal symptoms that way.

Good luck finding a replacement, it is a great pre.

Now there is a coincidence! I bought a Vosne Romanee L. It is a great pre, but I still miss the 5se. I like to have my feet in both camps. I plan to keep the VR-L, but I will add another ARC preamp, maybe another 5se...

I didn't notice that in your signature at first. Coincidence yes. Pair it with a good Shindo amp and you may not miss the ARC pre. As good as the Ref5se is I don't miss mine at all. The VR is an amazing pre.

If you have to have an ARC pre I believe I saw a Ref 40 Anniversary for sale here on AA a while back. Great pre at a good price. Not sure if it is still available. Look in the marketplace.

I also sold my REF PHONO 2, 6 months after I got my Giscours. I lost a lot of money but gained a TON OF MUSIC ! :D

Jerome, I lost quite a bit of money as well but also gained a priceless amount of musicality. Live and learn I guess. No regrets here.
