The C1100 is a more dedicated 2 channel device then the c2500/2600 preamps. I would expect a leaner more focused preamp for dedicated 2 channel systems. It’s too bad you were not informed of this issue before switching. I hope it’s not too bothersome. Mike S. |

New C1100 and passthrough question
Ok fellow C1100 users - how many of you out there are experiencing this pass through behavior? I’d be happy to write McIntosh about this and there is strength in numbers.
I am not in the same place as my C1100 so can’t comment on its behavior but I think the amp lights stay on or turn on. I know I can’t change the lights from the front panel in pass through. I think the correct behavior is: If Passthrough active then all lights out - preamp tube lights, amp and preamp meter lights. Your thoughts? Tom |
If I turn my C1100 meter lights off, my D1100 and MC303 lights also turn off.
When I power up my AV8805, PASSTHRU is engaged, meter lights for my C1100 and D1100 turn back on. The MC303 amp lights stay off. I would prefer the meter lights to just stay in whatever mode they were in when PASSTHRU is engaged. On or Off. |
Good point.

I think that is a great idea in terms of writing McIntosh.
The work around is that I simply turn the amp lights on and off manually depending on whether I’m in 2 channel mode versus HT but it is a mild annoyance. Quote:
