Has anyone heard the HD220 Hybrid Drive Stereo Power Amplifier ? ....

It uses 2 - 6H30 and 2 - 6922. It looks very interesting. I would love some feedback on performance and musicality.

Joe...I read an Agon thread on this amp and one gentleman who bought it initially was wowed by it but with time it developed a bright/forward/lean character to his ears. Just one person's perspective but an interesting transformation if you read through his initial review and then read down in the commentary at what point he switched opinions. My dealer was never a big fan, preferring the all tube VS-115 or Reference series and also the DSi-200 (integrated) and the DS-450 (stereo power amp) over the HD-220.

Here's the Agon thread on it: AudiogoN Forums: Review: Audio Research Corporation HD 220 Amplifier

Thanks Cyril,

That's exactly what I'm looking to avoid.

My speaker manufacturer loves the VS60/VSi60 ARC gear. I'll have give it a listen.
