Chris/James Helpppppp. -30 in the Peg with nothing to do....

Going out of my mind here as I don't know what the heck I did on my BDP-2. I have access to all my music on my internal HD, external HD or NAS. I can choose the titles I want to listen to as usual, however, when I click play the song appears, the album art appears but nothing happens.... The time stays on 0.00??? Try a different song, same thing.... Try a song on a USB drive, same thing. Everything loads like normal but player doesn't play? Must have hit something in dashboard. I was playing with DSD files and trying to get it add new, which it did. Now when I try to just play normal 44.1 Flacs my EMM Labs DA2 shows that it has a lock with the BDP-2 but at 192 and not 44.1. If i try another source thru the DA2 no issue. USB from my Laptop works fine with DSD's. Spotify streams fine with Coax input. Only one not working is my music via the BDP-2 thru AES/EBU. Bryston is closed and its going to be a cold weekend up here in Winnipeg. Save my weekend. Don't make me spend it driving the wife around town, lol....

It was working perfectly before I started playing around with DSD files.....

This is the crucial clue. I do not have BDP-2 experience, but this tells me it is a configuration issue. Does 192 play out of the same connection as 44.1? Could it be that activating 192 caused an automatic change to the active connection?

More ruminating .... if the DAC only “sees” 192, it must be the player is only sending 192. And if so, the player would ignore 44.1 files. Is there a configuration choice in the player for output resolution?

No it usually plays at whatever is fed to it thru the same connection. So if the flac is 44.1 it will play at 44.1, if its 88.2 it plays and shows 88.2. Somehow the BDP-2 seems to be locked in at 196 and hence won't play it at all. There is nothing to configure on the DAC. I must have locked something on the BDP-2

Does the BDP-2 successfully play 192?

nope but will stream Tidal thru the applications folder.

Chris figured out the simple fix. All good again. Don't have to drive the wife around tomorrow!!!

Don’t keep us in suspense - what was it?

I had the sound output enabled but you also have to have a check box checked as well. Seems like enabled would be on but apparently not. lol
