Samsung Salon 3 just doesn't sound right ☹️. Hopefully, Samsung will leave Revel alone now that Harman acquisition is completed.

It doesn't look like Revel is even on their (ahem) screen. But for some reason, B&W seems to be. Check this video and ad copy (look between 1:40 and 1:50)
and ponder with me what B&W has to do with this merger.

It's all goobledegook.

That's really strange Lew.

I'm guessing whoever made/edited the video just compiled some fragments of video clips and plain messed up by including something with the B&W car system in it.

Odd indeed. The suits must have wanted to do this as a statement piece. Unfortunately, it leaves us no better informed about Revel than before, and considerably more confused as to where the high end home audio brands figure in their plans. They seemed pretty proud of JBL Pro though.

In my experience these events rarely leave the acquired subsidiary's focus entirely intact. I have no predictions beyond my observations that when Harman acquired companies it frequently botched the opportunities and went on to bury the brands. If Samsung and Harman truly believe they have similar cultures, history suggests it won't leave the fringe businesses in Harman's portfolio unchanged.

We may not actually see the impact for a few years though.

Unless we move to a smaller home, my Salon 2s are here to stay. Now that I have a grandson, I worry about stability. I'm probably going to have to get them off the carpet and secure them to the wood floor with those outriggers. But, at this time, I'm more worried about chocolate covered fingers and crayons than I am about the things falling over!

The bases I got were from http://www.soundocity.com They're going to be around $300 for a set. Very affordable IMO and did exactly what I needed.

There is always the Magico Mpod option...for $1050...per foot! I'm sure they are a superb piece of kit...but good grief.

Do you have a photo that you can share? I'm having a hard time visualizing the setup. Thanks.
